King Abdullah Mosque

The The King Abdullah Mosque is a major mosque in Amman, Jordan. The mosque was built between 1982 and 1986 by order of King Hussein I and named after his grandfather Abdallah ibn Husain I, the emir and first king of Jordan. The plans go back to the work of the Bohemian-German architect Jan Cejka. The mosque is located on the hill Jebel al-Weibdeh in the western part of the Jordanian capital. Its characteristic blue main dome, decorated with mosaics, has become one of Amman's landmarks.

Amman Roman Theater

The Amman Roman Theater is located in the center of Amman, the capital of Jordan. It was either rebuilt during the reign of Antoninus Pius or an existing theater was rebuilt and expanded at that time. The theater could seat between 6,000 and 11,400 people. The diameter of the semicircular auditorium is 102 m. The seating steps of the auditorium are divided into three sections by two aisles. The upper section consists of 17 rows of seats; the middle and lower sections each consist of 14 rows of seats.


Khazne al-Firaun

The Khazne al-Firaun is a mausoleum carved out of the rock by the Nabataeans in the ancient city of Petra in present-day Jordan. It is located opposite the entrance to the Siq, the gorge, which is also the entrance to the rock city. The building was named "Pharaoh's Treasure House" from the Bedouins. These presumed rich treasures in the large urn on the top of the facade. However, the building is a grave and cult site.


Wadi Rum

The Wadi Rum is the largest wadi in Jordan. Its rock walls are made of sandstone and granite. As a protected area with an area of ​​740 km², it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2011.



Petra

Petra, a ruin site in present-day Jordan, was the capital of the Nabatean Empire in ancient times. Because of its monumental grave temples, the facades of which were carved directly from the rock, it is considered a unique cultural monument. On December 6, 1985, Petra was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
