General Informations:Laos is a socialist state and the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia. At the heart of the Indochinese Peninsula, Laos is bordered by Myanmar and China to the northwest, Vietnam to the east, Cambodia to the southeast and Thailand to the west and southwest.

Vat Phou

Wat Phu is a former Khmer temple complex in the Champasak province in southern Laos. The ruins that have been preserved date from the 11th to 13th centuries. The "Wat Phou temple district and the associated ancient settlements in the Champasak cultural landscape" have been UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 2001.

Buddha Park


The Buddha Park, also known in various ways as Xieng Khuan, is a sculpture garden 25 km southeast of Vientiane in Laos. The park is located on the Mekong River, which separates Laos from Thailand at this point. Although it is not a temple, the park is also mistakenly called Wat Xieng Khuan. The park contains over 200 Hindu and Buddhist sculptures and is one of the main attractions for tourists in the Vientiane region. It is administered by the Lao government.

Patuxai


Patuxai is a triumphal arch in the Lao capital Vientiane. The 49 meter high monumental building stands at the end of the Xang boulevard. Patuxai was named "Monument to the Heroes of the Royal Army" in the 1960s. H. Erected for Laos ’independence from France. When the Pathet Lao took power in 1975, the massive concrete structure became nameless for 20 years. It was commonly known simply as Anousavali.

Pha That Luang


Pha That Luang is a large Buddhist stupa in Vientiane from the 16th century. According to legend, a mon sanctuary was originally located here. Other legends tell that emissaries from King Ashoka were sent around the year 307 BC. Brought a relic of the Buddha here. Yet another legend claims that two Nagas resided here.


Kuang Si waterfall

Kuang Si, also known as Tat Kuang Si, is a tiered waterfall in Luang Prabang Province, Laos. It is located about 30 km southwest of the city of Luang Prabang in the Tat Kuang Si Park nature reserve and is one of the main tourist attractions in the region. The main waterfall, starting from shallow pools, plunges about 60 meters over karst rocks. In the further course, sintered terraces and turquoise-blue pools formed due to the very calcareous water.
