Denmark proper,which is the southernmost of the Scandinavian countries, consists of a peninsula, Jutland, and an archipelago of 443 named islands,with the largest being Zealand, Funen and the North Jutlandic Island. The Kingdom of Denmark is constitutionally a unitary state comprising Denmark proper and the two autonomous territories in the North Atlantic Ocean: the Faroe Islands and Greenland.


Temperature:By far, July and August have been earmarked as the best time to travel to Denmark by frequent visitors.

Stevns Klint


Stevns Klint is a steep coast in the southeast of the Danish Baltic Sea island of Zealand. The cliff is about 15 kilometers long and rises up to 41 meters above sea level. In 2014, UNESCO granted the cliff the status of a World Heritage Site.

Tivoli


The Tivoli in downtown Copenhagen is a world-famous amusement and recreation park. The complex, which is decorated with flower beds and fountains, is located between Rathausplatz and the main train station.



The little mermaid


The Little Mermaid is called a bronze figure on the Langelinie waterfront in Copenhagen. The figure sitting on a boulder is modeled on the fairy tale of the same name by the Danish poet Hans Christian Andersen. With a height of 125 cm, the work of art based on the design by Edvard Eriksen is one of the smallest landmarks in the world.


Amager beach park


Amager Strandpark is a protected recreational area on the east coast of the Danish island of Amager. The 60-hectare park on Öresund is the closest beach to the center of the metropolis, about five kilometers from Copenhagen's Rådhuspladsen. The site consists of an artificial island in front of it, which was completed in 2005.


The Mols Bjerge National Park


The Mols Bjerge National Park is a protected area in the east of the Jutland Djursland peninsula in Denmark. The national park is 180 km² and includes large areas of forest, heather and grassland as well as lakes and coastal areas. The hills of Mols Bjerge gave the area its name. The highest point is Agri Bavnehøj with a height of 137 meters.

Gefion fountain


The Gefion Fountain is a large fountain on the Copenhagen harbor. It is the largest monument in Copenhagen and is used as a wishing well. The group of figures shows Gefion, the Asen maiden from Germanic mythology and her sons transformed into bulls, who plow a furrow between the island of Zealand and Sweden with a plow and thus separate Zealand from the mainland.

Langelinie


H.C. Andersen's Hus

H. C. Andersens Hus is the Danish name for the house in which the Danish and writer poet Hans Christian Andersen was probably born. The house is located in the old town of Odense on "Bangs Boder" street. Although Andersen's place of birth cannot be determined with certainty, it is likely that he was born in the house. Andersen's grandmother lived in this house and in 1805, when the later poet was born, Andersen's aunt lived there.


Nyhavn

Nyhavn is a central port in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, and one of the city's main attractions. The Nyhavn Canal, completed in 1673, was commissioned to create a branch canal from Copenhagen Harbor to Kongens Nytorv Square. The colorful gabled houses on both sides of the small arm of the harbor were mainly built in the 18th and 19th centuries. The harbor environment gave rise to numerous taverns early on, and the area is still one of the most famous entertainment districts in Copenhagen with its many restaurants, pubs and dance halls next to Istedgade.


Kongens Nytorv


Kongens Nytorv is the largest square in downtown Copenhagen in Denmark. It connects the Strøget shopping street with the Nyhavn restaurant mile. The Kongens Nytorv was laid out at the behest of King Christian V from 1680 as a representative square on the edge of what was then the old town. The irregular square is still lined by various palaces and public buildings. In the center of an elliptical green area is an equestrian statue of the king created by the sculptor Abraham César Lamoureux. Today the square forms an important traffic junction in the Danish capital, here is also the Kongens Nytorv station of the Copenhagen Metro.

Rosenborg Castle garden


Kongens Have is a park in the center of Copenhagen. The garden was created from 1606 on the initiative of the Danish King Christian IV. It initially served as a riding and pleasure garden as well as an orchard and kitchen garden for the royal court. Two of the main paths and the open space of the former parade ground date from this early period. At first, Kongens Have was surrounded by a simple wooden fence.



Roskilde Cathedral


Roskilde Cathedral is the most important church in Denmark and the Evangelical Lutheran national church in Denmark. 1000 years of Danish history are revealed under ornate vaults and in dark crypts. With its multitude of unique royal chapels, it reflects the changing European architectural history over 800 years: Romanesque and Gothic are represented as well as Renaissance, Baroque, neoclassicism, eclecticism and functionalism. The

cathedral is the first Gothic cathedral in Scandinavia made of brick.


Rådhuspladsen


Rådhusplads is a square in the center of the Danish capital Copenhagen. It is located in the Indre By district between Vester Voldgade and Hans Christian Andersens Boulevard. Vesterbrogade and Strøg, one of the longest pedestrian zones in Europe, also flow onto the square. It was named after the

town hall in 1893.

Den Gamle By


Den Gamle By, German for "the old town", is an open-air museum in Aarhus, Denmark. In contrast to most open-air museums, it is not about rural, but rather urban culture and history. As such, it is the oldest of its kind.



Rundetårn


Rundetårn is an astronomical tower in the center of Copenhagen. The Rundetårn is now a well-known tourist attraction, public observatory, exhibition space, and its roof is a much-visited lookout point.


Egeskov castle


Egeskov Castle is a moated castle in Kværndrup on the island of Funen in Denmark. The building, which was still influenced by the Middle Ages, changed in the course of its history from an externally late Gothic moated castle, which was already designed in the Renaissance style, to a homely country palace. The building is surrounded by extensive gardens and there are several museums on the castle grounds.

Frederiksborg Castle


Frederiksborg Castle is a moated castle in Hillerød on the Danish island of Zealand. It is considered the largest and most important building of the Nordic Renaissance and is now home to the Danish National History Museum.


Christiansborg Palace Church


Christiansborg Palace is located on the island of Slotsholmen in central Copenhagen and houses the tips of the three powers of the Kingdom of Denmark. It is the only representative building in the world that unites the highest representatives of the executive, legislative and judicial branches under one roof: In addition to the rooms of the Folketing Parliament, there is the Supreme Court, a seat of the Prime Minister and royal reception rooms in the palace.

Amalienborg Palace


Amalienborg Palace is the Copenhagen city residence of the Danish Queen Margrethe II. The palace is owned by the Danish royal family to this day, and the queen's presence is symbolized by her standard. If the royal family is present, the changing of the guards in front of the palace takes place every day at 12 noon. The palace ensemble is formed by four individual palaces around an octagonal square.
