Sultan's Palace

The Sultan's Palace is the former main palace of the Sultan in the Sultanate of Zanzibar, today's Tanzanian state of Zanzibar. The 3-storey palace was built with battlements at the end of the 19th century and is not far from another former sultan's residence, the House of Miracles. After the revolution in Zanzibar in 1964, the palace was renamed People’s Palace and used as the seat of government. Since 1994 the palace has served as the site of a museum.
